To provide a platform for Christians to think and do differently – a breeding ground of good ideas that encourages experimentation in methodology.
We are unboxing methodology, not theology. We are united in Christ and the Spirit, but do not always use the same methodology.
Create an ‘unboxed’ community that carries synergy beyond the gathering together. Equip each other in helping ‘unbox’ our local Christian communities.
A 2-3 day gathering comprised of TED type talks and round table discussions sharing new or revised ministry ideas and methods.
The talks will be approximately 20 minutes sharing new ideas and tools and concepts for any aspect of ministry.
Talks can be submitted by anyone – they will be approved by a rotating volunteer panel that assess their relevance and quality.
There will be plenty of opportunity for fellowship as it is our belief that processing and sharing these “outside-the-box” concepts with one another will only lead to greater and greater ideas.
These talks are NOT sermons; NOT “this is how you do it”, but simply sharing new and creative ideas for ministry. As the conference progresses it is our hope that we will have continued reporting back on how those ideas were implemented and how successful they ultimately were. (BTW, it will be acceptable to report, “We tried it and it was a miserable failure.”)
We are convinced that there are many new and fresh ideas that would increase Christian outreach and ministry effectiveness, but may never be fleshed out because they are “not the way we have always done things”. We want to create an environment to share ideas – an experimental breeding ground if you will - to bring those great ideas out in the open. Our conviction is that while Jesus is perfect, we have not perfected the ways to do “ministry” - nor will we ever - but we ought to continue to grow in our abilities, and learn to accomplish Jesus’ purposes in every way that we can.
